You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt. You are as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear. You are as young as your hope and as old as your despair.
PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
You will continue to bear fruits, even in old age, in the Name of Jesus.
FIRE SCRIPTURE:
Luke 2:36-38
36 A very old woman called Anna was also there in the temple. She spoke messages that the Holy Spirit gave to her. She was the daughter of Phanuel, who belonged to the tribe of Asher. She had lived with her husband for seven years and then he had died.
37 After that, she had lived alone until she was 84 years old. Now she never left the temple. She stayed there day and night to worship God. She fasted and she prayed.
38 At that moment, Anna came to where Mary and Joseph were standing in the temple. When she saw the baby, she thanked God for him. Then she began to speak about him to other people there. Many people were waiting for God to make Jerusalem free. These were the people that she spoke to about the child, Jesus.

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL 28TH OCTOBER 2024 MESSAGE:
Old age becomes a glorious thing when it is channelled towards God. There are quite a number of people in the Bible who actually used their old age to do God’s service and to honour the Lord. An example is what we see in the life of prophetess Anna, who at the age of 84 was still active in the service of God. I imagined how this woman of such age could still fast day and night! She was a great intercessor. She was always attending church services. The Bible says she never departed from the temple; and even at her old age, she was still relevant in the things of God.
The way a person uses his or her old age is important to God. As a senior citizen in Christ, how are you using your time? Do you serve God in the church like Anna? How committed are you? Are you a solution to the church of Christ or a headache?
Caleb could still fight for the Lord even at his old age. Ahijah the prophet could still hear God at his old age.
I want you to know that God did not start with Moses until he was 80 years old and Abraham at 70. From the foregoing, you can see that no matter your age, there are still things you can do for God.
Apostle Paul referred to himself as Paul the aged in Philemon verse 9. During his old age, he was busy writing letters (Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians etc.). Even some were written when he was in prison at his old age. Despite his old age, he was travelling, visiting and encouraging churches when he was released from the prison.
As a member of Senior Citizens, you should emulate the life of Apostle Paul and other Bible characters who used their old age for the service of the Lord:
(1) You can be involved in hospitality and benevolence ministry.
(2) You can be involved in edification and evangelism.
(3) Spend time in prayer and fasting (Luke 2:37)
(4) You can use what God has given you to further the course of the gospel. You can be involved in counseling ministry and giving encouragement to younger ones.
TODAY’S PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. O God, give me fresh fire in my old age, in the Name of Jesus.
2. Methuselah anointing in my life, dry up, in the Name of Jesus.
3. Power to be relevant to God in my old age, fall upon my life, in the Name of Jesus.
EVENING
4. Father, make me to flourish like the palm tree all of my days, in the Name of Jesus.
5. Father, make me to bear fruits for you even in my old age, in the Name of Jesus.
6. Father, make me a blessing to the youth and to my nation at large, in the Name of Jesus.
7. Father, let my life count for You and make me a kingdom builder for ever, in the Name of Jesus.
