Today’s Scripture
Ruth 4:13, NLT – So Boaz took Ruth into his home, and she became his wife. When he slept with her, the LORD enabled her to become pregnant, and she gave birth to a son.
Today’s Word
In the Scripture, Ruth and Orpah were Moabite women who married the sons of Naomi and her husband. When their husbands died and Naomi returned to her hometown of Bethlehem, why did Ruth decide to go with her but Orpah did not? This was the sovereignty of God. He gave Ruth the desire because He’d decided ahead of time that she would marry Boaz and out of their family line David would be born, and ultimately Jesus Christ.
Just as God orchestrated His plan for Ruth that was generations in the making, nothing you’ve been through has been random. It’s not happenstance or bad luck. God is not making it up as you go. He’s working all things according to His plan. Now stay in faith while His plan unfolds. What God is doing in your life will not always make sense. You have to trust that He’s sovereign, that the good things in your future are unstoppable. If you do this, you’re about to come into some of these sovereign moments that you couldn’t make happen.
Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are able to take the most unfair situations and turn them into positives. Thank You that You are directing my steps even through the hurts, the questions, and the disappointments. Help me learn to accept Your sovereign plan, to stay in faith, and to see Your plan unfold. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
