TODAY’S WORD
Sometimes we’re frustrated because we know we have more in us but we’re not seeing it happen. David was anointed to be the king, then God sent him back to the shepherds’ fields to care for sheep. Your anointing will supersede where you are right now. But David didn’t slack off or have a sour attitude in the mundane when no one was watching him. Thirteen years later, after being faithful in the shepherds’ fields and going through all kinds of unfair situations with King Saul, David suddenly took the throne. Passing the test in the ordinary days is what leads to exceptional days.
As with David, you may know you have more in you. You can feel the seeds of greatness, but you’re doing something menial, something below your training. Are you being excellent where God has you now? Be faithful in the routine. Be faithful when nothing exciting is happening or changing. If you are being your best where God has you now, serving and giving with a good attitude, God will take you from the background to the foreground.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You for calling me to be faithful in the routine, knowing that You are preparing me for the new things You have in store. Thank You that You will take me from the ordinary to the exceptional. I’m going to keep being my best, serving and loving right where I am. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
