TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
But sure enough, the woman soon became pregnant. And at that time the following year she had a son, just as Elisha had said. – 2 Kings 4:17, NLT
TODAY’S WORD
The Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4 had been so giving to the prophet Elisha that he wanted to bless her in return. The one thing missing in her life was a son, and Elisha told her that within a year she would have her baby boy. When you’re always being a blessing, God will make sure that you are blessed, but not just with material things. God can give you what money cannot buy. In her case, it was a son. God can bring you a divine connection, somebody in your life to love. You can’t buy that.
God can give you peace in your mind so you can lie down at night and sleep well. You can’t purchase that. Perhaps you’ve been told to just learn to live with an illness. He can make you healthy and whole again. You can’t buy that. Our part is to do as she did and be a giver, have a generous spirit. You cannot give God something without Him giving you more back in return. You’re going to see things happen that you never dreamed would happen.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that there are no limits to what You have given me, even giving Your Son to die for me. Thank You that I can have the heart of a giver and look for opportunities to bless others. I believe that as I am doing the right thing, You will reward me with what money can’t buy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
