TODAY’S WORD
As a boy, Samuel ministered to the Lord under the supervision of the priest Eli. Three times in the night, God called to Samuel, but he thought it was Eli. On the fourth time, Samuel responded, “Yes, Lord, your servant is listening.” God spoke to him about what was going to happen and gave him instruction for his life.
God is calling to you as well, but perhaps you’re not answering because, like Samuel, you don’t recognize His voice. You have all these other loud voices telling you what to do, where to go, who to be. But there is a still small voice inside. That’s the voice of your Heavenly Father. Sometimes that voice gets drowned out by all the noise around you. You have to be still and listen. God knows what’s best for you. The reason He keeps calling is He has something amazing in your future. When you answer that call, you step into purpose, peace, and fulfillment that you’ve never known. The next time you hear that voice, instead of ignoring it or pushing it down, say, “Yes, Lord, I’m listening.”
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that I don’t have to look to someone else to tell me who I am or what I should do. Thank You that I can know Your voice and follow You whether others approve or not. I declare that I will be still and listen for the still small voice inside. Show me what You want me to do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
