Joel Osteen Daily Devotional 22nd September 2025 (Monday) Message. Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen.
Good Soil.
Joel Osteen
Today’s Scripture
“The seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!”
Mark 4:20, NLT
Today’s Word
In Jesus’ Parable of the Sower, He is telling us to focus on the condition of the soil of our heart. He warns us about having rocky or thorny soil. He’s saying, “What’s around you? What’s influencing you? Who’s speaking into your life? Who are you giving your time and attention to?” The thorns could be friends who keep causing you to compromise. The weeds are coworkers who gossip and talk about how bad life is. The rocks are relatives who tell you that you’ll never be successful. They are choking out the seed of God’s Word in your life. They’re choking out your dreams, your vision, your character.
Are you being contaminated by what you’re watching, by what you’re thinking about, by who you’re spending time with? What you’re not willing to walk away from is where you’ll stop growing. If a friend is causing you to compromise but you won’t make the change, it will keep you where you are. The seed can’t grow in bad soil. Be selective with whom and what you give your time, energy, and attention.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You for the gifts and potential You put in me. Thank You for making it so plain that I need to be selective about whom I surround myself with. Help me to be bold to evaluate and make sure that my friends are people who inspire me and cause me to grow in my faith. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
