Today’s Word
It’s easy to live focused on past disappointments, setbacks, hurts, and failures. I’ve learned that we’re either feeding our history or feeding our destiny, but we can’t feed both. You may be looking back and beating yourself up for mistakes you’ve made, living in regrets, thinking about all the people who did you wrong, and bitter about having come down with an illness.
Or you may be looking ahead, saying, “Father, thank You that Your plans for me are for good. Thank You that what was meant for my harm, You’re turning for my good. Thank You that You hold victory in store for the upright. Thank You that the path of the righteous gets brighter and brighter.”
If you’re always feeding your history, you’re going to be frustrated, discouraged, depressed, and bitter. You can’t go forward if you’re always looking back. You can’t see the new things God has in store if you’re focused on what’s behind. Start feeding your destiny. If you get your thoughts going in the right direction, your life will go in the right direction.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that Your plans for me are for good. I may not understand everything along the way, but I’m not going to keep feeding my history and be focused on the past. I declare that I will feed my destiny and keep my life moving in the right directions. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
