Scripture: Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. – Proverbs 3:5, MSG
Joel Osteen Daily Devotional 18th June 2020
Sometimes it’s best to leave things alone. As long as you’re probing around your hurts and disappointments, trying to figure out why something happened, you’re never going to heal. You have to let it go and say, “God, I don’t understand it, but I’m not going to keep trying to figure it out. I know that You wouldn’t allow it if You couldn’t bring good out of it, so I’m going to leave it with You.”
We should have a file in our thinking called “I Don’t Understand It.” When things come up that don’t make sense and you can’t find an answer, instead of trying to figure it out, getting confused and frustrated, just put it in your “I Don’t Understand It” file and move forward. If you make the mistake of going through life trying to figure out why something bad happened, why something didn’t work out, why your prayer wasn’t answered, that’s going to poison your life.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I can be free from trying to figure everything out on my own. I recognize that You wouldn’t allow it in my life if You couldn’t bring good out of it. I will place these matters in my “I Don’t Understand It” file and move forward. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
