TOPIC: Unexpected Help
Today’s Scripture
The king asked, “Well, how can I help you?” With a prayer to the God of heaven, I replied, “If it please the king, and if you are pleased with me, your servant, send me to Judah to rebuild the city where my ancestors are buried.” – Nehemiah 2:4–5, NLT
Today’s Word
Nehemiah had a dream in his heart to rebuild the walls and gates of Jerusalem, but he was living a thousand miles away and working as a cupbearer for the king of Persia. He did not have the funds, the materials, or the experience he needed. Yet when he asked the king for help, the king supplied the finances, building supplies, traveling protection, and authorization to do what had seemed impossible. What’s interesting is that this king didn’t believe in the God of Abraham, yet he wanted to help Nehemiah.
God will put dreams in your heart that you can’t accomplish on your own. You may not have the experience, the funds, or the connections, but God does. He will cause the right people to be in your path, people who will use their influence to thrust you ahead. They may not believe as you do or be living a godly life, yet they’ve been positioned in your path to help you move into your destiny. You’re just one transfer away from seeing your dream come to pass.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that the dreams You put in my heart are possible because of all that You do. Thank You that You have the right people and everything I need ready at the right time and place. I declare that Your gracious hand of favor is helping to take me to new levels. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
