Read: Seeds of Destiny Today Devotional 1st January 2022

TOPIC: The Power of the Blessing

SCRIPTURE: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28 (KJV)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you put a blessed man in a dry place, he will wet the place. But when you put a cursed man in a wet place, he will dry up the place.

From Scripture, we understand that one of the first things God gave man at the beginning was the Blessing (Genesis 1:28). In the same way, one of the very first things God intends to release upon your life at this beginning part of the year, 2022 is His Blessing. So, there is a need to understand the Power of the Blessing.

Now, what is the power of the Blessing?
i. The Blessing imparts resourcefulness, result-fullness and productivity to life.
When a man is blessed, he is unusually productive. His brain is always active and functional. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were productive all-round because they were blessed by God (Genesis 30:30-43).

The brain of a cursed person is closed; his energy does not produce results. That will never be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

ii. The Blessing produces both the irrigation and the fertilization of systems and organizations for productivity (Genesis 30:27).

When a blessed man is brought into an organization, he waters, irrigates and fertilizes the system to make things work differently.

In Genesis 30:27, Laban seemed to have told Jacob, “If I have found favour in your sight, please remain with me because experience has taught me that God blessed me since you came.”

And Jacob seemed to have replied, “It was a little you had before I came; but now that little is turned into a multitude because I came here with irrigation and fertilization.” Gen. 30:30.

Take note of this: When you put a blessed man in a dry place, he will wet the place. But when you put a cursed man in a wet place, he will dry up the place.

My counsel is, connect the Blessing by covenant practices.

REMEMBER THIS: When you put a blessed man in a dry place, he will wet the place. But when you put a cursed man in a wet place, he will dry up the place.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Refuse to go through this year without the Blessing.
2. Embark on covenant practices to connect to the Blessing of God (Malachi 3:8-10).

PRAYER: Lord, I reject every trace of curse in my life. I receive the grace to embark on covenant practices so I can access the Blessing, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: The overflow is divinely commanded blessing or harvest. It is blessing under pressure – the blessing that looks for you instead of you looking for it. Culled from “21 UNCOMMON KEYS TO FINANCIAL OVERFLOW” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Genesis 6-10.

REFLECTION: Adam remained in the Blessing for as long as he remained in obedience. He stepped out of the blessing as soon as he stepped into disobedience. Do all you can to stay in obedience to God.

PROPHETIC WORD/DECLARATION: The Grace to do all that is required to experience the Blessing of God is released upon you in Jesus’ Name.
