A Daily Devotional Guide By Pastor W.F Kumuyi – DCLM Daily Manna Devotional 6th March 2024 Message for Wednesday.

TOPIC: The Kingdom Key

KEY VERSE: “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (MATTHEW 16:19).

TEXT: MATTHEW 16:13-20

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

DCLM DAILY MANNA 6 MARCH 2024 DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE

“Imagine any problem you have to be a huge, locked door standing in front of you. Now see yourself taking a golden key out of your pocket. You brought the key here with you when you arrived on this planet, but you sometimes forget to use it. See yourself putting it into the keyhole, then watch the door swing open…” This writer’s description of the power of a key demonstrates the timeless, universality and indispensable usefulness of keys in human society.

Within the context of the Scripture, keys are symbols of authority and an opportunity to open any closed entrance (spiritual or physical) by a believer. When you become a member of God’s kingdom through salvation from Christ, you have access to this key, which you can use either to bind or to loose. The emphatic promise of Christ to His disciples in verse 19 of this passage confirms our authority and the status that we occupy in His kingdom. Beyond Peter and the early disciples who benefitted from that unlimited access to Kingdom resources, believers today have the same authority of Christ to bind and loose.

What are you seeking from God today? What are the things challenging you, your identity or authority? Bring out the key that Christ has given you, issue the authority and watch doors of blessings, victory, perfect health and other miracles open before you!

Remember that everyone can enjoy the same revelation about Christ, enter into same relationship with God
and begin to enjoy the authority of the Kingdom. This key is available today for our use as long as we maintain that relationship with Christ and live in constant obedience to the word of God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: He who has the key enjoys unlimited access to Kingdom resources and power.
