David Jeremiah 12 April 2022 Daily Devotional MESSAGE
The letter to the Hebrews talks about “those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews 2:15). That verse describes both the problem and the solution to the fear of death. The problem is Satan: He holds “the power of death” (verse 14). But the solution is Jesus Christ: Through His resurrection He destroyed Satan’s power.
Yes, death is the ultimate form of spiritual warfare. Satan would love for any person who has heard about Jesus to die in unbelief. Death marks the closing of the door—the final weapon in Satan’s armory. But wait! For believers, death is not the closing of an eternal door since Christ has conquered death by His death and resurrection. Death is swallowed up in Christ’s victory; the sting of death has been removed. The Christian will get to experience ultimate victory in spiritual warfare when he or she is resurrected to eternal life.
If Satan’s ultimate strike against you has been removed, you have no reason to fear any of his devious schemes.
Let’s keep our chins up and our knees down—we’re on the victory side.
