Life does not always unfold the way we expect.
There are moments of betrayal, disappointment, loss, and injustice that leave us asking difficult questions. Joseph knew those feelings well. He was rejected by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned for crimes he did not commit.
Yet through every trial, God was working behind the scenes.
When Joseph was finally reunited with his brothers, he did not respond with bitterness or revenge. Instead, he made this remarkable declaration:
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.”
Joseph did not deny the reality of the evil done against him. What his brothers did was wrong. But he also recognized a greater truth—God’s sovereign hand was able to take what others meant for evil and use it to accomplish His good purposes.
The same God is at work today.
He is able to bring healing from heartbreak.
He can produce wisdom through suffering.
He can turn setbacks into opportunities for His glory.
He can use even painful seasons to shape our character and strengthen our faith.
This does not mean every painful event is good. Rather, it means that God, in His infinite wisdom and love, is able to redeem what is broken and accomplish His purposes through it.
If you are walking through a difficult season today, do not lose hope.
God sees what others cannot see.
He knows the end from the beginning.
His plans for your life are never defeated by the actions of others or the hardships you face.
Trust Him with your story.
The God who worked through Joseph’s trials is able to work through yours as well.
What seems like a setback today may become a testimony of God’s faithfulness tomorrow.
Let’s Pray:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God who is always working for good, even when I cannot understand my circumstances. Thank You that nothing in my life is beyond Your power to redeem.
Lord, help me to trust You in seasons of disappointment, pain, and uncertainty. Heal every wound in my heart and remove any bitterness that tries to take root within me.
Give me the faith to believe that You are working behind the scenes, even when I cannot yet see the outcome. Help me to forgive those who have wronged me and to rest in the confidence that Your plans for my life cannot be defeated.
Turn every trial into a testimony of Your grace and every difficulty into an opportunity to reveal Your glory.
Thank You for Your unfailing faithfulness and for the hope I have in You.
