Humility is one of the greatest qualities a believer can possess.
Proverbs 29:23 reminds us of an unchanging truth: “Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.” Pride may promise recognition and self-importance, but it ultimately leads to downfall. Humility, on the other hand, positions us to receive God’s favor and honor in His perfect time.
Pride causes us to depend on ourselves.
Humility teaches us to depend on God.
Pride seeks personal glory.
Humility seeks God’s glory.
When we walk humbly before the Lord, we recognize that every blessing, every ability, and every success comes from His gracious hand. We stop comparing ourselves with others and begin to serve with gratitude, knowing that all we have is a gift from Him.
Jesus is the perfect example of humility.
Though He is the Son of God, He came to serve rather than to be served. He humbled Himself, obeyed the Father’s will, and gave His life for our salvation. As His followers, we are called to reflect that same attitude in our daily lives.
Humility is not weakness.
It is strength under God’s control.
It is the willingness to listen, to learn, to forgive, and to put others before ourselves. It is trusting that God is able to lift us up at the right time without our striving for recognition.
Today, ask the Lord to search your heart. Let Him remove every trace of pride, selfish ambition, and self-reliance. Choose the path of humility, knowing that those who honor God will be honored by Him according to His perfect will.
A humble heart is a heart that is ready to be used for God’s glory.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercy, Your grace, and the perfect example of humility shown through Jesus Christ.
Lord, guard my heart against pride and self-centeredness. Teach me to walk humbly before You and to depend on Your strength rather than my own abilities.
Help me to serve others with love, kindness, and sincerity, always seeking to bring glory to Your name instead of my own. Give me a teachable spirit that welcomes Your correction and follows Your wisdom.
When success comes, remind me to give You all the praise. When challenges arise, help me to trust You completely and remain faithful.
Shape my heart to become more like Christ each day, and let my life reflect the beauty of true humility.
