There are times when God’s promises seem delayed. We pray, we wait, and we wonder why things are not happening as quickly as we hoped. In those moments, it is easy to question whether God has forgotten or if His promises will truly come to pass.
But 2 Peter 3:9 gives us a powerful truth: God is not slow.
What we often perceive as delay is actually God’s patience at work. His timing is not governed by human expectations. He sees beyond the present moment and works with an eternal perspective. Every delay carries purpose, even when we cannot fully understand it.
This verse reveals the heart of God—He is patient because He cares deeply. His desire is not for anyone to be lost, but for all to come to repentance and experience His grace. That means His timing is always connected to His love and His greater plan.
Sometimes, God delays not because He cannot act, but because He is giving space—for growth, for transformation, for alignment with His will. In that waiting, He is working in ways we cannot see.
Trusting God in these moments requires faith. It means believing that His promises are still true, even when they are not yet visible. It means resting in the assurance that God’s timing is perfect and His intentions are always good.
So if you are waiting on something today, don’t lose heart. God has not forgotten you. His promise still stands. And His patience is a reflection of His love, not His absence.
Hold on. Trust Him. What He has spoken will come to pass.

Lord God, thank You for Your faithfulness and for the promises You have spoken over my life. When I feel like things are delayed, help me to trust that You are never slow, but always working according to Your perfect plan.
Teach me to be patient, just as You are patient with me. Help me to grow in faith during seasons of waiting and to trust that Your timing is always right.
Lord, align my heart with Your will. Let me not become discouraged, but remain hopeful, knowing that Your promises will be fulfilled.
