Fear has a way of creeping in quietly. Sometimes it shows up as anxiety about the future. Other times it disguises itself as self-doubt, hesitation, or the feeling that you are not enough. I have experienced moments where fear tried to paralyze my decisions, limit my faith, and silence my voice.
But this verse reminds us of a powerful truth—fear does not come from God.
God has given us something entirely different: power, love, and a sound mind. That means whenever fear begins to take over, it is not a reflection of what God has placed inside of us. Instead, it is a signal to return to His truth.
Power means you are not helpless. Through God, you have strength to face challenges, overcome obstacles, and stand firm even when life feels uncertain.
Love means you are not alone or rejected. God’s love fills your heart and enables you to extend grace, even in difficult situations. His love pushes out fear and reminds you of your worth.
A sound mind means you are not losing control. God gives you clarity, stability, and peace, even when everything around you feels chaotic. He anchors your thoughts and renews your perspective.
The enemy often works through fear because fear shrinks your faith. It makes you doubt what God can do through you. It keeps you from stepping into purpose. But when you begin to embrace the spirit God has given you, everything changes.
You begin to think differently.
You begin to act boldly.
You begin to trust deeply.
And even when fear tries to return, it no longer has authority over you.
So today, if fear has been speaking loudly in your life, remember this: it does not belong to you. You have been given power. You have been filled with love. You have been equipped with a sound mind.
Walk in that truth.
Let’s Pray
Lord God, thank You for reminding me that fear is not from You. I acknowledge that there have been times I have allowed fear to control my thoughts and decisions, but today I surrender those fears to You.
Fill me afresh with Your power, that I may stand strong in every situation. Fill my heart with Your love, that fear will have no place in me. Renew my mind, Lord, and grant me clarity, peace, and stability.
Help me to walk boldly in the truth of who You have called me to be. When fear tries to rise again, remind me of Your Word and anchor me in Your promises.
I choose to live in power, love, and a sound mind. I trust You completely.
