Faith is often tested in the waiting.
When God gives a promise, the journey between the promise and the fulfillment can feel long and uncertain. Questions arise. Circumstances may seem to contradict what God has spoken. And in those moments, unbelief tries to quietly settle into the heart.
But Romans 4:20 gives us the example of Abraham—a man who chose faith over doubt.
The Bible says he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God. Even when the situation looked impossible, he held on. He did not allow delay to destroy his confidence in God.
Instead, he was strengthened in faith.
This is a powerful truth: faith can grow stronger in the waiting. Challenges do not have to weaken your trust; they can deepen it when you choose to keep your eyes on God instead of your circumstances.
Abraham also gave glory to God. That means he praised God before the promise was fulfilled. He honored God not just for what He would do, but for who He is—faithful, trustworthy, and true.
Sometimes, we think faith means never having questions. But real faith is choosing to trust God even when answers are delayed. It is standing firm when logic says give up. It is believing that if God said it, He will surely do it.
So today, if you are holding on to a promise from God, do not waver.
Do not let delay become doubt.
Do not let fear silence your faith.
Do not let circumstances redefine God’s Word.
Stay strong. Keep believing. And keep giving glory to God.
Because what He promised, He is able to perform.
Let’s Pray:
Lord God, thank You for being faithful to every promise You have spoken. When waiting becomes difficult, help me not to waver in unbelief.
Strengthen my faith, Lord. Teach me to trust You even when circumstances seem uncertain and the answer feels delayed.
Help me to keep my eyes on Your truth and not on my fears. Let my heart remain steady, knowing that You are always faithful.
Lord, I choose to give You glory even before I see the fulfillment. I trust that what You have promised, You will bring to pass.
