God never intended for us to live the Christian life in our own strength. He knew there would be moments of weakness, fear, and uncertainty—times when we would need more than human ability to stand, serve, and fulfill His purpose.
That is why Jesus gave this powerful promise in Acts 1:8: “You will receive power…”
This power is not ordinary strength. It is the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit working within us. It gives us boldness when we feel afraid, wisdom when we feel unsure, and strength when we feel weak.
The purpose of this power is not just for personal comfort—it is for purpose. Jesus said it would help us testify about Him with great effect. In other words, the Holy Spirit empowers us to be effective witnesses of God’s love, truth, and salvation.
Sometimes, we think sharing our faith or living boldly for Christ requires perfection. But God is not looking for perfect people—He is looking for willing hearts that depend on His Spirit.
The disciples were ordinary people, yet after receiving the Holy Spirit, they became bold, courageous, and impactful. Fear was replaced by faith. Hesitation turned into confidence.
The same Holy Spirit is available to us today.
You do not have to rely only on your own ability. God has given you His Spirit to strengthen, guide, and empower you for every assignment He has placed in your life.
So today, don’t live small. Don’t let fear silence your purpose. Walk in the power God has already made available to you.
You are empowered for more.
Let’s Pray:
Lord God, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thank You that I do not have to live this life in my own strength.
Fill me with Your power today. Give me boldness where I have been afraid, wisdom where I have been uncertain, and strength where I have been weak.
Holy Spirit, help me to live as a true witness for Christ. Let my words, my actions, and my life reflect Your love and truth.
Teach me to depend on You daily and to walk confidently in the purpose You have for me.
Thank You for empowering me to do more than I could ever do on my own.
