Many people think eternal life is only about what happens after death. But in John 17:3, Jesus reveals something deeper—eternal life begins with knowing God.
Not simply knowing about Him, but truly knowing Him personally.
There is a difference between information and relationship. A person can know many facts about God and still remain distant from Him. But Jesus speaks of an intimate relationship—a daily walk of faith, trust, love, and fellowship with the Father.
This is the heart of Christianity.
God does not only desire religious activity; He desires relationship. He wants us to know His voice, experience His presence, and walk closely with Him through every season of life.
And this relationship is made possible through Jesus Christ.
Through Christ, we are brought near to God. Sin no longer separates us, and fear no longer has to keep us distant. Jesus opened the way for us to experience the fullness of life found in God’s presence.
The more we know God, the more our hearts are transformed.
We begin to trust Him more deeply.
We begin to love what He loves.
We begin to find peace, purpose, and joy in Him.
And in a world filled with temporary things, this relationship becomes the one thing that truly satisfies the soul.
So today, don’t settle for knowing about God from a distance. Draw near to Him personally. Spend time in His Word. Talk with Him in prayer. Open your heart to His presence.
Because eternal life is not just a future promise—it is a present relationship with the living God.
Let’s Pray
Lord God, thank You for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Thank You for inviting me into a personal relationship with You.
Help me not to know You only through information, but to know You deeply and intimately. Draw my heart closer to You each day.
Teach me to recognize Your voice, trust Your ways, and delight in Your presence. Let my relationship with You grow stronger through prayer, Your Word, and daily fellowship.
Lord Jesus, thank You for making a way for me to come near to the Father. Fill my life with the peace, joy, and purpose that come from truly knowing You.
