Daily Fountain Devotional 6 April 2022 MESSAGE
In our reading today, Prophet Jeremiah was in a serious persecution for his commitment to truth in the prophetic ministry. His life was in danger; he complained greatly and even declared woe on himself (v.10). It was indeed a trying time for him. However, in the midst of the trials, something great happened: He found God’s word and ate it; and the word was unto him joy and happiness (v.16).
There is a gladdening and strengthening effect of ‘eating’ the word of God: It is manna to the hungry soul, and to the weary, it is rest. No matter your present situation, by faith and sincere desire, prayerfully seek a divine word as food for you. If you do so, you will notice, like Elijah, divine strength that will carry you through the journey of life – (I Kings 19:7,8).
PRAYER: Oh Lord, show me a word from you that I may ‘eat’ it and find strength.
