Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith…” — 1 Peter 5:6–9 (KJV)
💭Daily Devotional for Today – October 19, 2025: Reflection:
Peter, writing to believers under trial, gives three powerful instructions: Humble yourself, cast your cares, and resist the enemy.
To humble yourself under God’s mighty hand means to trust His timing and authority, even when the waiting feels long. Casting your cares on Him means releasing every anxiety into His hands, confident that He truly cares for you.
Then comes the call to spiritual alertness — be sober, be vigilant. The enemy seeks to discourage and devour those who drift away from faith. But when you stand firm, resisting him in faith and staying anchored in God’s Word, he must flee.
Victory belongs to those who stay humble before God and steadfast against the enemy. Your waiting season is not wasted — it’s a setup for divine lifting.

Father, I surrender every care and burden into Your hands. Teach me to wait in humility and faith. Strengthen me to resist every scheme of the enemy. Let Your mighty hand lift me in due time and establish me in Your peace, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
