📖 Bible Verse for Today
Psalm 31:14–16 (NASB)
“But as for me, I trust in You, Lord, I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in Your hand… Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me in Your lovingkindness.”
Daily Devotional Message
Today’s daily devotional centers on a powerful declaration of trust in the middle of uncertainty. In Psalm 31:14–16, David speaks words that reflect deep faith: “But as for me, I trust in You, Lord… My times are in Your hand.”
This statement is both simple and profound.
Life is full of changing seasons—moments of joy, seasons of waiting, times of uncertainty, and periods of challenge. Often, we try to control these seasons. We want things to happen according to our plans and timelines. We become anxious when things don’t unfold the way we expect.
But David reminds us of a greater truth: our times are in God’s hands.
This means that every part of your life—your past, your present, and your future—is under God’s care. Nothing is outside His control. Nothing catches Him by surprise.
When David says, “I trust in You, Lord,” he is making a conscious choice. Trust is not always a feeling—it is a decision. It is choosing to believe in God’s goodness even when circumstances are difficult or unclear.
There are moments in life when trusting God feels easy—when things are going well and everything seems to fall into place. But true trust is revealed in difficult seasons—when you don’t have all the answers, when you feel uncertain about the future, or when things are not going as planned.
In those moments, this verse becomes an anchor.
“My times are in Your hand.”
This means:
- God is in control of your timing
- God knows what you need and when you need it
- God is working behind the scenes, even when you cannot see it
Sometimes, delays can feel like denial. You may be praying for something, waiting for a breakthrough, or hoping for a change. But God’s timing is always intentional. What feels like a delay may actually be preparation.
God is never late. He is always on time.
David also prays, “Make Your face shine upon Your servant.” This is a request for God’s favor, presence, and blessing. It reflects a desire not just for help, but for closeness with God.
When God’s “face shines” upon you, it means you are walking in His favor. It means His presence is guiding you, protecting you, and surrounding you with His peace.
The final part of the verse says, “Save me in Your lovingkindness.” This reminds us that God’s actions toward us are rooted in His love. He is not distant or indifferent—He is compassionate, merciful, and deeply concerned about your life.
If you have been feeling uncertain about your future, overwhelmed by your circumstances, or anxious about timing, this passage is a reminder to release control.
You don’t have to figure everything out.
You don’t have to force things to happen.
You don’t have to carry the weight of your future on your own.
Your times are in God’s hands.
And His hands are trustworthy.
Today, choose to rest in that truth. Let go of anxiety and embrace faith. Trust that God is guiding your life, even when the path is not fully clear.
He sees the bigger picture.
He knows what is best.
And He is working all things according to His perfect plan.
Morning Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that my times are in Your hands. Today, I choose to trust You completely, even when I don’t understand what is happening around me.
Lord, help me to release control and to rest in Your perfect timing. Remove every fear, anxiety, and doubt from my heart. Fill me with peace and confidence in Your plan for my life.
Let Your face shine upon me and guide me in every step I take. Surround me with Your presence and lead me in Your truth.
Thank You for Your lovingkindness and for always working for my good. I place my life in Your hands.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
