TOPIC: Empowered to Witness
FOCUS SCRIPTURE: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” — Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
As believers, we are called to be witnesses for Christ, sharing His love and truth with the world. However, this mission is not one we undertake in our own strength. Acts 1:8 reminds us that we need the power of the Holy Spirit to effectively fulfill our calling.
Jesus promised His disciples that when the Holy Spirit comes upon them, they would be empowered to spread the gospel, starting in their immediate surroundings and extending to the ends of the earth. This same promise applies to us today. We cannot effectively live out our faith or share it with others without the guidance, boldness, and strength that the Holy Spirit provides.
In Zechariah 4:6, we are reminded:
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
This means that our effectiveness in witnessing comes not from our abilities but from the Holy Spirit working through us.
When we rely on the Holy Spirit, He gives us wisdom, courage, and the right words to say. He leads us to the people who need to hear the message of Jesus and prepares their hearts to receive it.

- Are you relying on the Holy Spirit for power in your daily walk with Christ?
- How can you be a more effective witness in your community?
- What steps can you take to grow in your relationship with the Holy Spirit?
Prayer Point:
- Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh and give you boldness to be a witness for Christ.
- Pray for open doors to share the gospel with others.
- Ask God to strengthen and guide you in fulfilling His mission on earth.
PRAYER OF THE DAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of the Holy Spirit. I ask for a fresh outpouring of Your power upon my life so that I may be a bold and effective witness for You. Help me to rely not on my own strength but on Your Spirit to guide me in sharing the gospel. Open doors for me to reach others with Your love, and prepare their hearts to receive Your truth. Use me, Lord, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
