Devotional Message:
This verse is a sobering reminder of the serious consequences of responding to kindness with cruelty. It speaks directly to the heart of justice and integrity, challenging us to examine how we treat others—especially those who have done us good.
In a world where misunderstandings, betrayals, and offenses are all too common, it can be tempting to return hurt with hurt. But Scripture calls us to a higher standard. When someone blesses us or acts in kindness, our response should be gratitude, not hostility. When we repay good with evil, we not only break trust—we open the door to strife, confusion, and spiritual decay in our lives and homes.
God is a God of justice, and He sees how we treat one another. He calls us to be people of peace, forgiveness, and grace. If you’ve been hurt or feel tempted to repay evil for good, pause. Invite the Holy Spirit to soften your heart and remind you of the mercy you’ve received. Let’s choose to be vessels of honor, sowing peace where we could sow pain.
Prayer of the Day:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your mercy and kindness toward me. Help me to reflect Your love in how I respond to others. Guard my heart from bitterness, and teach me to never return evil for good. If I’ve wronged anyone in this way, bring it to light so I can make it right. Let my home be filled with peace, not strife, and may my actions reflect Your grace. Strengthen me to walk in forgiveness, humility, and love.
