Charles Stanley Daily Devotional 29 July 2026 (In Touch) Wednesday Message
Charles Stanley Daily Devotional TOPIC: The Promise of God’s Presence
SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY: Exodus 3:10-17
At times God gives us seemingly impossible tasks. On receiving his call to confront Pharaoh and lead Israel out of Egypt, Moses’ immediate response was, “Who am I?” (Ex. 3:11). He saw his inadequacies clearly—a fugitive with a shepherd’s staff, tasked with challenging the most powerful ruler in the world.
God’s response was clear: “Certainly I will be with you” (v. 12). This wasn’t a strategy for success or a promise to make the task easier. It was God saying His presence would be enough.
We often look for God to remove obstacles, increase our abilities, or provide a clear path forward when He calls us to difficult things. But sometimes God’s answer is simply, “I will be with you.”
When Moses questioned further, God revealed Himself as “I AM WHO I AM,” the eternal, self-existent One who needs nothing and lacks nothing (vv. 14-15). This is the God who promises His presence—not offering guidance from afar but walking alongside us (Deuteronomy 31:6).
The gift isn’t just that God helps us accomplish hard things. The gift is God Himself. His presence doesn’t always change our circumstances, but it does change everything about how we face them.
BIBLE IN A YEAR: Isaiah 28-30
THOUGHT FOR TODAY: When we feel helpless or incapable, His presence reassures us that we’re right where we need to be.
