Charles Stanley Daily Devotional TOPIC: The Blessings of Wisdom
SCRIPTURE READING: Proverbs 3:1-4
The world claims there are many paths to a successful, rewarding life: education, wealth, public recognition, service … But true fulfillment comes from the Lord and following His wisdom.
Today’s passage says that when we choose to align our heart with scriptural truth, we will “find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man” (v. 4). This isn’t a formula for success—it’s a description of what happens when we live in harmony with how life was designed to work. God’s wisdom helps us see situations from His perspective and respond in ways that honor Him.
When we walk in His wisdom, we gain strength to stand firm in our faith even when circumstances are difficult. We learn to trust His character instead of demanding immediate answers. Wisdom doesn’t eliminate hardship (John 16:33), but it does anchor us in the truth that God is good, faithful, and present with us, even in seasons we don’t understand.
There’s a peace that comes from knowing God, and it isn’t dependent on our circumstances going well. It’s rooted in confidence that our Father sees, cares, and is at work in ways we may not yet recognize. This is the kind of deep, sustaining peace the world cannot provide—and it’s available to all who seek the Lord and trust His wisdom above their own understanding.
