Bible Verse: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
Inspirational Message
Here, Jesus promises, “Seek, and you shall find. ” But Paul says in Romans 3:11 that there is no one who truly seeks after God. How can we reconcile these two ideas? The answer is that the natural man never seeks God, but that those with a new nature (from the new birth) do both seek him and find him. But in another sense, we should rather say “He sought us” than to say “We sought Him. ”
Prayer For Today
O Lord, let us seek you today, look for your will with each step we take. Let us seek to please you with our thoughts, words, and deeds this very day. Let us seek to advance your Kingdom and your glory with our lives. Let us seek you from a pure heart, and when we so seek, we believe your promise that we will find.
