Anglican Daily Fountain Devotional 9 May 2022 TOPIC:Living To Please God
TEXT: 1 Peter 4:1-11(NKJV)
Daily Fountain Devotional 9 May 2022 MESSAGE
Many people live to please themselves or in line with the traditions of their peer group, community or circle of friends. They may therefore find themselves deep in “lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries” (v.3). Many of us once lived like that before we accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour (Eph. 2:1-3). Those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God (Gal. 5:19-21).
But God’s will for us is that we please Him all the days of our lives (vv. 2, 6). Every aspect of our lives, including our words and actions, should give glory to God (v.11).
Christ has already paid the price, and all that we need to please God are available to us through Him (vv. 1, 11). May we therefore determine to please God daily.
PRAYER: O God, help me to please you in all I say or do every day in Jesus’ name, amen.
