Anglican Daily Fountain Devotional 27 April 2021, Tuesday Message
TOPIC: Oppose False Teachers
TEXT: Titus 2:11-15(NKJV)
11. For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
12. teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
13. looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
14. who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself [His] own special people, zealous for good works.
15. Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
STUDY: False teachers ruin many lives because of their false doctrines. Titus was advised to oppose, rebuke, silence and stop these false teachers so that the real brethren will be sound in faith by neglecting Jewish myths and commands of those who reject the truth of the gospel. Titus was told that those with a pure heart believe that all things are pure while those with corrupt hearts do not believe because they have corrupted minds and consciences.
In Nigeria and around the globe, false teachers abound, deceiving those whose faith are weak and leading many people to hell. Those false teachers exist in our churches, schools, fellowships and prayer houses. Some of them do not want to be under authority and so they break out to found their own churches, ministries prayer houses or prophetic schools.
Christians need to beware of these false teachers, identify them and oppose and stop their activities in our churches, schools and fellowships. Let us be concerned of the danger they pose to the true gospel and rise to fight the menace to a standstill. May God grant you the ability to silence every false teacher that you may identify. Please be quick to expose and oppose them so that the gospel will not be compromised.
PRAYER: Help me, O Lord, to identify, oppose and silence all false teachers around me in Jesus ‘Name. Amen.
Daily Fountain Quote of the Day
“We don’t think there’s something wrong with one-year-old children because they can’t walk perfectly. They fall down frequently, but we pick them up, love them, bandage them if necessary, and keep working with them. Surely our heavenly Father can do even more for us than we do for our children.”— Joyce Meyer
