Anglican Daily Fountain Devotional 24 February 2020
Topic: Run for Your Life
Scripture: Acts 1:15-26
Message: God made it clear in Isaiah 55:11 and Jeremiah 1:12 that His spoken words must be fulfilled. Consequently, someone would accomplish what was spoken in Psalm 69:25. How to attend such commission was conspicuously written also (Acts1:20). Judas Iscariot might have read these passages; He was one of the disciples of Jesus. He was the treasurer of the company of God’s men – a privileged position! He knew Jesus came to die for the salvation of mankind (Mark 10:32-34; 14:17-21)and Jesus told them plainly that one of them would betray Him.
Nevertheless, Judas Iscariot, having heard all these warnings, allowed his heart to become darkened with sin and seared with a hot iron of the devil. He therefore died spiritually and subsequently, died horribly. He was a thief and this destroyed him (John 12:1-6). Mathias who we are celebrating today had to take his place.
Anglican Daily Fountain Devotional 24 February 2020 – Friend, you go to church and are baptized, you are a communicant and can pray; you can perform miracles, signs and wonders. However, you have refused to let go of that sin or those sins that so cling to you. It has so eaten you up that you don’t care about the warnings from God again. Repent now. Your continued claim to be born again will not save you. You must LEAVE SIN,else someone will take your position and crown. ESCAPE FOR YOUR LIFE!
Prayer: Lord, I surrender, save me and keep me. Amen.
