TOPIC: Renewed Day By Day

TEXT: 2 Corinthians 4:16-18(NKJV)
16. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward [man] is being renewed day by day.

17. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding [and] eternal weight of glory,

18. while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen [are] temporary, but the things which are not seen [are] eternal.

STUDY: Have you had cause to lose heart in the face of mounting pressures, troubles and other challenges of life? Please do not lose heart any more. Consider the encouragement in verse 16. Paul faced many daunting challenges as summarised it all in 2 Corinthians 11:24-29. He called the challenges “light and momentary afflictions” in verse 17. His reaction to the challenges was based on strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He fixed his eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (v.18; Hebrews 12:2). He also knew that the blessings of eternal life in Christ far outweigh any trouble of this life. As a result, his inner life was renewed day by day.

Do you want to renew your life every day and soar on wings like the eagles? Then trust in the Lord fully and lean not on your own understanding (Isaiah 40:31). Look away from the problem currently confronting you, and look unto Jesus. He will turn your sadness into joy, and cause rivers to flow from your deserts (v.17; Isaiah 41:18).

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me to trust You daily so that my life will be renewed. Amen.
