Daily Devotional for Women – August 11, 2026 Tuesday Message
TOPIC: You Don’t Have to Have All the Answers
Today’s Bible Verse
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
Devotional Message
There are seasons when you can pray, plan, think carefully, and still not know what comes next.
You may be standing at a crossroads, wondering which decision to make. Perhaps you are waiting for clarity about your career, family, relationships, finances, ministry, or future. You may even feel frustrated because you have asked God for direction, yet the entire path has not become clear.
But God rarely gives us the whole map at once.
Sometimes He gives us enough light for the next step.
Proverbs 3:5 reminds us not to lean entirely on our own understanding. This does not mean God wants you to stop thinking, planning, or seeking wise counsel. Rather, He wants your confidence to rest in Him more than in your ability to figure everything out.
Abraham had to leave his familiar surroundings without knowing exactly where God was taking him. Ruth stepped into an uncertain future when she chose to remain with Naomi. Mary accepted a calling that would completely change her life without knowing all the details ahead of time. These women moved forward because they trusted the God who knew what they could not yet see.
Faith often begins where certainty ends.
You may not understand why a door closed. You may not know why an answer has taken so long. You may not understand why your journey looks different from someone else’s. But God’s lack of explanation does not mean His absence.
He sees what you cannot see.
He knows what you do not know.
And He understands how today’s circumstances connect with tomorrow’s purpose.
So, instead of exhausting yourself trying to predict every outcome, bring your questions to God. Seek His wisdom. Listen for His direction. Do what He has already placed before you, and trust Him with everything that remains unclear.
You do not need to know everything to take the next faithful step.
God is not asking you to carry the burden of knowing the future. He is asking you to trust the One who holds it.
Today’s Reflection
What decision or uncertainty has been occupying your thoughts lately?
Instead of trying to solve everything today, surrender the situation to God. Ask Him to show you the next step and give you the faith to take it, even if you cannot yet see what comes after it.
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You because You know the beginning from the end, and nothing about my future is hidden from You.
Today, I surrender my unanswered questions, uncertain decisions, and concerns about tomorrow into Your hands. Forgive me for the times I have depended more on my own understanding than on Your wisdom.
Teach me to trust You even when I cannot see the full picture. Give me discernment to recognize Your direction, courage to obey when You lead me somewhere unfamiliar, and patience when the answer does not come as quickly as I desire.
When I am tempted to overthink, quiet my mind. When fear makes me imagine the worst, remind me of Your faithfulness. When I compare my journey with others, help me remember that You are writing a unique story with my life.
Lord, I may not know what tomorrow holds, but I know You hold tomorrow. Let that truth become the foundation of my confidence.
Order my steps, guard my heart, and help me walk forward with faith rather than fear. Give me grace to focus on today’s assignment instead of worrying about tomorrow’s details.
I choose to trust You with what I understand and with what I do not understand.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
