Girlfriends in God (Devotional) is a non-denominational ministry that crosses generational and racial boundaries to bring the Body of Christ together as believers. Just as God sent Ruth to Naomi and Mary to Elizabeth, God continues to use women to encourage and equip other women in their spiritual journey. We are doing life together!

About The Authors

Sharon Jaynes has been encouraging and equipping women through ministry for over twenty-five years. From the time she met Christ as a teenager, she fell in love with God’s Word and has had a passion to bring God’s truth to today’s woman.

GWEN SMITH is the author of I Want it All and Broken into Beautiful and co-author of Trusting God and Knowing God by Name. She’s also one of three co-founders of the conference and devotional ministry Girlfriends in God which reaches hundreds of thousands of women across the world each weekday to encourage and equip them on their spiritual journey with Christ.

Mary Southerland is an international author and speaker. She is also a survivor. Women identify with Mary because she has survived the road of clinical depression, infertility, adoption, full-time ministry, sexual abuse, chronic physical pain, and the daily stress of life. Through God’s power, Mary has emerged with joy, strength, and victory. Her heart’s desire is to encourage women with a message of hope and equip them with practical truths from God’s Word to live their lives with power and purpose.

Statement of Faith

The Trinity

God the Father: God the Father is maker of heaven and earth. He is omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnipresent (everywhere at once). He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-wise. His very nature is love. (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 6:9; Romans 8:14,15; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 Corinthians 15:24)

God the Son: Jesus Christ is God’s Son. He was born of the virgin Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit, lived a sinless life, and gave himself as a sacrifice, once and for all, for those who believe. He died and rose again three days later. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for the saints. Through Jesus Christ death and resurrection, He made atonement for sins and eternal life in heaven possible. (John 1:34-35; John 1:1,2,14,18; Romans 3:24-26’ Romans 8:34)

God the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the Divine Person of the Trinity who convicts the world of sin; brings life to those who are spiritually dead; baptizes all believers with power; and indwells them permanently. The Holy Spirit seals believers in Christ until the day of redemption, gives gifts to individuals in Body of Christ, and aids in the cultivation of the fruits of the Spirit. (John 3:3-8;14:16-17; 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12;7-11; Ephesians 4:30; 5:18)
