Disciple or Multitude

TEXT: “And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude”. – Revelation 5 :10
Rhema For Living 21 April 2022 Devotional MESSAGE
It is very pertinent that in our Christian walk, we know who we are and retrace our steps from time to time to align with that of the Master. A disciple of Jesus not only receives Jesus by being born again, he is someone who believes in Him and follows the teachings of Jesus. He is a follower of the footsteps of Jesus and has direct dealings with the master, His ways are made known to them, “He made known His ways unto Moses and His acts unto the Children of Israel” Psalms 103 :7.
Who then are the multitudes?
The multitudes are people not relevantly involved in a course but gather around it because of a spectacular act, signs, wonders, miracles etc. They are not in the class of those making crucial decisions to promote a course. The same way they gather, the same way they disperse. In the body of Christ, they are the church goers, they scream more during church service, displaying excitement but that is where it ends with them. They search not the Scriptures, they are not Kingdom practitioners.
Child of God, which of these are you? As Jesus gave the loaves to His disciples in our text so He opens His ways to you and reveals His blessings in your life when you are a disciple, only crumbs are handed over to the multitude as mercy drops.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, from this day forward, I shall follow you as a disciple.
