TODAY’S LESSON
Memory Verse: “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom offools. ” Ecclesiastes 7:9

Bible Text: Numbers 20:1-13
1 Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.
2 And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.
3 And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!
4 And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?
5 And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.

6 And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.
7 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

9 And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.
10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

13 This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

Lesson Introduction: Anger is known to be a strong feeling of displeasure or antagonism towards someone or something usually combined with an urge to harm. Anger always has a message; it reveals ones dissatisfaction on certain issues. It arises when one is blocked from pursuing a goal or treated unfairly. And it is one of the most dangerous emotions because of its potential connection to violence.

LEADER’S DIARY
Lesson Aim: To make believers understand the need to avoid anger because of it’s grievous consequences that may be destructive.

Teaching Objectives: At the end of the lesson, members should be
able to:
• Know what anger is.
• Get information on the consequences of anger.

Text Review: Numbers 20:1-13
• Never allow yourselves to be used to trigger anger.
• An act ofingratitude can trigger anger.
• Anger can initiate distraction from divine instructions and principles.
• Anger can erode divine assignments and one’s attainment.

Teaching Method: First, ask members how they react to anger. Then use lecture method to dispense the lesson.

Time Management: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

Lesson Outline One
ANGER
Anger can be defined as strong feeling of displeasure, antagonism or
hostility towards someone with an urge to harm. This strong emotion, if unrestricted, can lead very quickly to sin – Genesis 4:5-7. There are four causes of anger;
i. Frustration: The feeling of being upset as a result of inability to achieve something.
ii. Irritation: The state of experiencing discomfort.
iii. Abuse: To treat with cruelty or violence.
iv. Unfairness: The lack of equality, justice or unjust act.

Lesson Outline Two
ANGERDESTROYS
Let’s look at things that anger can destroy;
• Relationship, Esau to Jacob -Genesis 27:41-45.
• Family – Genesis 45:7; II Samuel 13:22-32.
• Glorious Future-Numbers 20:10-12.
• Ministerial value, Jonah refused to go to Nineveh-Jonah 1:3.
• Nation or City, Levi and Simeon vomited destruction to an entire city because of injustice done to Dinah their sister – Genesis 34:25-27.
• Health.

Activity: Like the Bible says we should not walk with an angry man.
How can we achieve this?

SUMMARY: Whatever begins with anger ends in shame.

CONCLUSION: Anger kills and any man who gets angry easily, each rage leaves him lesser than he was prior to being angry.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, keep our feet from the path of destruction through anger.
2. I declare recovery of blessings lost to anger in Jesus name.
3. Father, please never allow anger overwhelm Your son Daddy G.O.
4. Every spirit of anger in me, die now in Jesus name.
5. Anger lies in the bosom of a fool, I refuse to be a fool.
