TOPIC: God Teaches You To Profit (1)

Bible In One Year:
1 Chronicles 13–15; John 7:1–27

Memory Verse:
Isaiah 48:17 – Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

Motivational Quote:
God is a businessman that never loses a dime. When you do business in God’s ways, your leverage over your business competitors cannot be rivalled.

Prophetic Word for today:
Henceforth, your steps shall be ordered by the Lord and you will fish in profitable waters, in the Name of Jesus.

Fire Scripture:
Luke 5:1-11

1 As Jesus stood beside Lake Galilee, a crowd of people pushed to get closer to him and to hear the teachings of God. 2 Jesus saw two boats at the shore of the lake. The fishermen were washing their nets. 3 Jesus got into the boat that belonged to Simon. He asked Simon to push off a little from the shore. Then he sat down in the boat and taught the people on the shore.

4 When Jesus finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Take the boat into the deep water. If all of you will put your nets into the water, you will catch some fish.”
5 Simon answered, “Master, we worked hard all night trying to catch fish and caught nothing. But you say I should put the nets into the water, so I will.” 6 The fishermen put their nets into the water. Their nets were filled with so many fish that they began to break. 7 They called to their friends in the other boat to come and help them. The friends came, and both boats were filled so full of fish that they were almost sinking.

8-9 The fishermen were all amazed at the many fish they caught. When Simon Peter saw this, he bowed down before Jesus and said, “Go away from me, Lord. I am a sinful man!” 10 James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were amazed too. (James and John worked together with Simon.)
Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid. From now on your work will be to bring in people, not fish!”

11 The men brought their boats to the shore. They left everything and followed Jesus.

God is interested in the minutest detail of our lives. He created man to have dominion, and poverty is never in His agenda for believers. He holds the key of wealth and is willing to give it to whoever is willing and obedient. We will do well to hand over our businesses and careers to Him because it is He that giveth the power to get wealth and make profit.

Peter, a trained fisherman, who knew the nitty gritty of fish farming, could not produce the needed wealth with all his professionalism. Until he gave the CEO of the universe the chance to order him aright, he kept toiling in a circle of profitless hard work.

Much as it is very good to acquire the needed training and skills in our fields of endeavour, it is equally important to let God order us aright every step of the way. As a matter of fact, He created us, and He knows the specific work or career for us to do to fulfil our destinies. That is why, as Christians, we cannot take God out of our business or career life if we want to command kingdom wealth.

Have you been moving in a circle and you feel stuck like Peter? Have you toiled so much but reaped little or nothing? Take a break, pause a bit, and take time to ask God to show you what He wants you to do to get wealth in life. It may be that you have been diverted from His original plan for your destiny.

After taking time to know what He wants you to do, seek Him more to tell you where and how to throw your net for a profitable catch. Once He makes known His ways to you, you are assured of being a custodian of kingdom wealth.

1. O God, arise and show me the secret of my life, in the Name of Jesus.
2. Father, teach me to make profit as I go out today, in the Name of Jesus.
3. Key of David, my business and career are available, enter into them, in the Name of Jesus.

4. Arrow of profitless hard work, I am not your candidate, backfire, in the Name of Jesus.
5. My career, business and calling, hear the Word of the Lord. Receive divine direction, in the Name of Jesus.
6. The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want any good thing, in the Name of Jesus.
7. Father Lord, breathe upon my handiwork, in the Name of Jesus Christ.
