Topic: Are You Head Indeed?

Memorise: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.

Read: Deuteronomy 28:13-14 (KJV)
13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Bible in one year: Nehemiah 10-11, Matthew 10:16-39, Hymn: Sing hymn 2
Message: Open Heaven 29th July 2018
For you to walk in the reality of the truth that God has made you the head, you need to understand the significance of being the head.

Open Heaven 29th July 2018 by Pastor Adeboye – Are You Head Indeed?
For this reason, we shall be looking at some of the responsibilities of the head in the body so that we do not disappoint the One who has graciously made us the head. According to today’s memory verse, our Lord Jesus Christ has been made the Head over all things for the benefit of the Church, which means that we derive our right and authority to be head in every area of life from Him, you can be sure that your attempts to function as head will be an exercise in futility. It would be a great waste of Christ’s work of grace if you fail to manifest as the head.

Beloved, when you pray that God should make you head as He promised in Deuteronomy 28:13, do you put into consideration the corresponding responsibilities? For example, it is in the head that we have sight (the eyes). As head of a family, clan, department in Church, business or community, are you ready to function as an effective eye for the body? I believe you don’t want to be a blind head. For example, as the head for a family, have you really caught the vision for the wellbeing of your family or do you allow your family grope in darkness towards doom?

Open Heaven 29th July 2018: [Sunday] Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye

Do you see errors of indiscipline in your family and overlook them by turning your eyes away? Are your eyes not already blinded by the delicacies of sin? Furthermore, in the head lies the ability to speak (the mouth). As the head of a church, has your mouth been padlocked by the gifts of criminals and harlots in your congregation, so much so that they now occupy positions in God’s sanctuary? The head is also the centre of hearing (the ears). As the head, do you still hear from God for the people you serve? When last did you hear from God about your people? Open Heaven 29th July 2018 by Pastor Adeboye

Lastly, the head contains the brain which thinks for the body. Some family heads have relinquished their thinking role to their wives and children.

Open Heaven 29th July 2018 by Pastor Adeboye – Are You Head Indeed?

Their children now dictate what is right or wrong to them. Some girls have changed their mothers’ wardrobes because they see their clothes as ‘old school’. They have arranged wardrobes that now contain what used to be underwear as the main clothes for their mothers. And these mothers have conceded to such abomination. My prayer for every head today and those who are aspiring to be heads is that you will be head indeed. I prophesy that you will begin to effectively fulfil the functions of the head from today in Jesus name.

Prayer Point: Father, please make me head indeed and don’t let me fail in my responsibilities.

Topic: Jesus the Way

Memorise: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

Open Heavens 19 October 2018 Bible Reading:  Mathew 7:13-14 (KJV)

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Open Heaven 19 October 2018 Bible in the year: Jeremiah 7-8 Luke 8:22-39, Hymnal: sing hymn 5

Open Heavens 19 October 2018 Daily Devotional Message:
In John 14:6, the Lord Jesus Christ made a declarative statement to Thomas, which even today some archbishop cannot fathom. He said.

‘’I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’’

What did Jesus mean when he called Himself the Way? After Adam and Eve fell in the Garden of Eden, there was a break in the connection that existed between God and man.

From that moment, mankind has continually made efforts to find God because of the emptiness that exits in us without God. Revealing this emptiness and the resulting search for God, In Acts 17:26-27, the Holy Spirit said:

26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,

27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;

The drive to fill this void is seen in the abundance of different religions in the world today, with each one recommending its own way to God.

Having seen the end from the beginning, Jesus knew that this time would come, and so he said very clearly to all who will listen, ‘I Am the Way.’’ He is the only way to God, and there is no other way to get to God except through Him.

Because of diverse doctrines around, you need to be careful and ensure that you have found the true God. You need to be sure that you are not just deluded into thinking you have obtained salvation and that you are on your way to heaven.

RCCG Open Heavens 19 October 2018 Daily Devotional – Jesus the Way
Any other way of God that is not through the Lord Jesus Christ is counterfeit. Are you in any religion that doesn’t recognize Jesus Christ as the way to God? Are you in any church that glorifies her General Overseer or leader and rather than the Lord Jesus Christ?

Does your church propagate its own doctrine rather than the word of God as written in the Bible? It is time to come out of such an assembly and seek the one true God through Jesus Christ.

Another thing Jesus meant when He said He is the Way is that He is the perfect example to follow if you want to please God. Don’t make any man your standard because man will disappoint you. Our standard is Jesus Christ and Him alone.

It is possible to attain Christ’s level of perfection here on earth, and this is why He gave us the Holy Spirit when He was leaving the earth. Are you going to Heaven through the Way, and are you walking in His footsteps?

Open Heavens 19 October 2018 Daily Devotional Key points: There is only one way to God; if you are not going through that way, then you cannot reign with Christ in paradise.

RCCG Open Heaven 19 October 2018 Daily Devotional Sing Hymn 5
I HAVE DECIDED TO FOLLOW JESUS
1. I have decide to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

2. The world behind me, the cross
Before me;
The world behind me, the cross
before me;
The world behind me, the cross
Before me;
No turning back, no turning back.

3. Through none go with me, still I
Will follow;
Through none go with me, still I
Will follow;
Through none go with me, still I
Will follow;
No turning back, no turning back.

4. My cross 1’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross 1’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
My cross 1’ll carry, till I see Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.

5. Will you decide now to follow
Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow
Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow
Jesus?
No turning back, no turning back.

Topic: Who’s The Waiter?

Memorise: Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured. – Proverbs 27:18

Read: Isaiah 40:29-31 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Isaiah 65-66, 2 Thessalonians 1

Teens Open Heavens 18 October 2018 MESSAGE:

Although prayer cannot change God, it can however change weakness to strength. Our Bible reading for today says that there is an exchange of strength when you wait on the Lord in prayer. This means whenever you access God’s presence, go with all your weaknesses and failings. Go in as an empty vessel that is ready to be filled.

Never enter His presence with the notion that you have it all, that you have arrived or that you do not really need Him. You may lose what you think you have and return empty. When you wait on the Lord, you are to the waiter and He your Guest. Serve Him only what He likes and not what you like. Unfortunately, because many of us do not understand what it is to wait on Him, we turn Him into the waiter and we the guest; we bombard Him with orders. From today, go into God’s presence and be the waiter.

Key Point: When you genuinely wait on God, men will wait on you.

Teens Open Heavens 18 October 2018 Hymn 16:

1. Christian, seek not yet repose
Hear thy gracious Savior say;
Thou art in the midst of foes:
Watch and pray.

2. Principalities and power
Mustering their unseen array
Wait for the unguarded hours:
Watch and pray

3. Gird the heavenly armor on,
Wear it ever night and day;
Ambushed lies the evil one:
Watch and pray.

4. Hear the victors who o’ercame,
Still they mark each warrior’s way;
All with one sweet voice exclaim,
Watch and pray.

5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
Him thou loves to obey;
Hide within thy heart His word:
Watch and pray.

6. Watch, as if on that alone
Hung the issue of the day;
Pray, that help may be sent down:
Watch and pray.

Open Heavens 18 October 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor E.A. Adeboye

Topic: A Son Indeed?

Memorise: But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Hebrews 12:8

Bible Reading: Hebrew 12:4-11(KJV)

4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

Open Heavens 18 October 2018 Daily Devotional – A Son Indeed?
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Bible in one year: Jeremiah 5-6 Luke 8:4-2, Hymnals sing hymns 2

Open Heavens 18 October 2018 Daily Devotional Message:
Discipline is the act of training a person to obey rules and follow instructions, which sometimes involves corrective punishment for wrongdoing.

The bible clearly establish that God expect parents to discipline their children (Proverbs 23:13-14, Ephesians 6:4) Parents who failed in this responsibility suffered great consequences, as seen in the example of Eli (1st Samuel 2:27-34).

Being a just God, he cannot require discipline from earthly parents and fail in his responsibility to discipline his own children, as the Heavenly Father. All act of disciplining God’s children ultimately come from God, and the methods used are determined by Him.

However, His motive is always love, while His goals remain making us partakers of His holiness (Hebrew 12:10). God discipline His children as part of His covenant with them. Consequently, only disciplined children of God has access to His covenant blessings. Job 36:10-11 says:

‘’He openeth also there ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity if they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and there years in pleasures.’’

Interestingly, God in his infinity wisdom has set discipline as the number one criteria ascertaining true children of God. Hebrew 12:8 says

‘’But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.’’

Consequently, if you notice that you are getting away with sin and immorality without any type of warning or discipline of God, then you can be sure that heaven does not recognize you as a true child of God.

As soon as a person accepts Lordship of Jesus Christ, he or she become a genuine member of God’s family, and the love of God will immediately kick-start the process of discipline in order to bring the new convert to perfection in due time. May you always cooperate with God for the purpose of receiving proper discipline in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heavens 18 October 2018 Daily Devotional – A Son Indeed?

Open Heavens 18 October 2018 Sing Hymn 2 – WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS
Verse 1:
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Verse 2:
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Verse 3:
Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
